Why and how do babies end up wearing their umbilical cords around their neck? In this module, we will explore the occurrence of a nuchal cord during birth and how we can manage this safely. We will also dispel the fear and myths surrounding this topic.

- Identify the presence of a nuchal cord at birth.
- Recognise the risks associated with nuchal cord management.
- Plan and evaluate out-of-hospital management of a nuchal cord.
- Manage out-of-hospital care of the newborn immediately after birth.
